NOVA Chapter November Meeting

We are excited to announce our conservation-oriented fall meeting lineup for the Northern Virginia Chapter.

Meetings will be held in a hybrid format, with both Zoom and in-person attendance at the Elks Lodge in Fairfax VA.

This will also be an opportunity to hear updates about charitable and conservation activities, tournaments, and sister organizations.

There will be door prizes for both the zoom attendees (prize wheel) and in person.

Chris Moore, Chesapeake Bay Foundation Senior Regional Ecosystem Scientist, will be our in-person speaker at the Nov. 15 meeting.   Chris can bring us up to date on the activities of the CBF in both Maryland and Virginia.  He operates out of the amazing Brock Environmental Center in Virginia Beach, so he is very knowledgeable about what is happening in Virginia waters.

• Chris leads policy development and technical support for water quality and fisheries restoration efforts.
• Water quality activities include on-site restoration and working with government officials to improve the Bay watershed.
• Chris also works to build sustainable fisheries issues through oyster restoration efforts and management of blue crab and Atlantic menhaden fisheries.
• He is also a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain and runs educational and restoration boat trips for volunteers, media, elected officials, and decision makers.

We look forward to meeting with Chris for a very informative evening!  Chris will be joining us in person at the Elks in Fairfax.
